Post 4

I think that the movie should show the scene where Erin escapes from Kevin because it would show the freedom she had afterward and show why she had her shields up high. I also think it would be a great thing to add where Alex and Katie get to meet and where they start talking because without them meeting there would be no story. I would also include the scene where Alex gives Katie the note because it makes you feel and makes you think and makes you realize who Jo was.  A scene I would cut out from the book would be when Kevin goes to the barbeque because that doesn’t really do much into what is going to happen or what has happened. Another scene I would cut out would have to be the routine that Erin had to go through every day with Kevin because I think after they show it once they will understand how bad Erin had it.

peculiar

My Idea for an object to have a better fan experience for the book Miss Peregrine’s home for Peculiar Children would be a cigar box that is filled with the pictures from Ms. Peregrine’s as well replicas of the letters from Abe and Emma .the pictures would be of the children demonstrating their amazing talents that made them peculiar. This connects with the book because the book is filled with fascinating pictures with kids with talents such as a boy that can lift a boulder with one hand, a girl that can play with fire, a boy that had bee’s living inside of him and on him. They presented themselves to the world in circus type performances, they loved to show of the talents they possessed they were very anxious to put on a show for Jake.  Emma and Abe had a great relationship before he had to go off and fight in the war, Emma waited for  years and years for him to come back and wrote him countless letter’s but he refused to reply and refused to come back to the loop. Emma has been heartbroken and was looking for love in his grandson that reminded her of him so much. “All right then, we’ll skip all the nice bits and go right to the end. It’s simple, really. He left. He said he loved me and promised to come back one day. But he never did.” Heartbroken as Emma was when he left only thing she could do was send him letter’s begging him to come back home, but that never happened and she is still devastated.  The pictures that Grandpa Portman showed Jake when he was telling him these wonderful stories about the house and the children, came from the house itself and he kept pictures inside his cigar box to share with Jake.  “I could think of only one explanation. My grandfather’s pictures had come from the trunk that lay smashed before me. I wasn’t certain, thought, until I found a picture of freaks: two masked ruffle-collared kids who seemed to be feeding each other a coil of ribbon. I didn’t know what they were supposed to be, exactly- besides fuel for nightmares; what were they, sadomasochistic ballerinas? - But there was no doubt in my mind that Grandpa Portman had a picture of these same two boys. I’d seen it in his cigar box just a few months ago” That made his doubts about his grandpa and his fairytales, go away he had seen it with his own eyes and discovered that whatever was in this house was the children and the answers to what happened to his grandpa. Once he discovers the loop from following Emma into it he gets dragged back into the loop which is 1940 September 3rd, he doesn’t realize that he has gone back in time and he is very confused and there he finds Emma who then takes him back to the house to meet the others and the headmistress . Emma is furious that he dared compare himself to Abe especially as his grandson she gaped in anger at this idea. When he gets there he sees the kids that he has only seen in dreams in pictures. “I watched, astonished, as the centaur’s huge arm bent at the elbow and reached into its chest, plucked out the ball, and tossed it back to the cheering kids. As he game resumed, the wild-haired girl dropped the centaur’s tail, and it went still once more. Millard’s breath fogged the window by me. I turned to him in amazement. “I don’t mean to be rude,” I said, “but what are you people?” “We’re peculiar,” he replies, sounding a bit puzzled. “Aren’t you?”” The idea of the pictures in the cigar box and the letter would make the fan get better into the story and further their experience in such a way because they would be able to see the pictures just as Jake saw them and that would really let you feel what he felt emotionally and physically.
